Renowned filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma’s highly anticipated political epics, Vyooham and Shapadham, have encountered numerous controversies and legal hurdles, resulting in the delay of their cinematic debuts over the past months. Originally scheduled for release today (Feb 23), Vyooham’s premiere has been deferred once again, with RGV announcing the news via social media platform X late last night.

In his tweet, RGV disclosed, “The release dates for the films Vyooham and Shapadham have been rescheduled to March 1st and March 8th, respectively. This decision is not attributed to Lokesh as in previous instances, but rather stems from certain technical considerations, a desire for additional promotional activities, and the availability of better-suited theaters on the new dates.”

Accompanying his announcement were striking posters bearing semblance to prominent opposition figures and coalition partners, Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan.

Both Vyooham and Shapadham revolve around the political narrative of the incumbent Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Ajmal, known for his role in Rangam, portrays the character of YS Jagan, while budding actress Manasa Radhakrishnan steps into the shoes of YS Bharati. The films are produced under the banner of Ramadhuta Creations by Dasari Kiran Kumar.
