Sharwanand Biography:

Sharwanand Myneni (born March 6, 1984), known mononymously as Sharwanand, is an Indian actor and producer primarily working in Telugu films, with a few appearances in Tamil films. He made his acting debut in 2004 with the film “Aidho Tareekhu.”

For his role in “Engeyum Eppodhum” (2011), Sharwanand received the SIIMA Award for Best Male Debut – Tamil. He also won the Nandi Special Jury Award for his performance in “Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju” (2015).

Sharwanand initially gained recognition with films such as “Prasthanam,” “Engeyum Eppodhum,” “Run Raja Run,” and “Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju.” He further solidified his career by starring in successful films like “Express Raja,” “Shathamanam Bhavati,” and “Mahanubhavudu.”

Sharwanand Personal Life:

Sharwanand Myneni was born in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, to Myneni Vasundhara Devi and Myneni Ratnagiri Vara Prasad Rao, and was raised in Hyderabad, Telangana. He completed his schooling at The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, where he was classmates with Ram Charan and Rana Daggubati. Sharwanand then earned a B.Com degree from Wesley Degree College, Secunderabad. During his college days, he was selected as “The Hindu’s Best New Face.” At the age of 17, he attended the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute in Mumbai.

Coming from a closely knit business family, Sharwanand is also related to actor Ram Pothineni, who is his cousin.

Sharwanand got engaged to Rakshita Reddy, a US-based techie and daughter of Andhra Pradesh High Court lawyer Pasunoor Madhusudhan Reddy, on January 26, 2023. They married on June 3, 2023, at The Leela Palace in Jaipur.

Sharwanand Career:

Early Career and Supporting Roles (2003–⁠2005)

Sharwanand first gained media attention in a Thums Up advertisement with Chiranjeevi. He made his acting debut in Telugu cinema with “Aidho Tareeku” in 2003. He subsequently shared screen space with Chiranjeevi in “Shankar Dada M.B.B.S.” and with Venkatesh in “Sankranthi” and “Lakshmi” in supporting roles.

Critical Acclaim and Forays into Tamil Cinema (2005–⁠2014)

Sharwanand rose to stardom with “Vennela” (2005) and “Amma Cheppindi” (2006), the latter earning him critical acclaim. He continued his successful run with films like “Gamyam” (2008) and “Andari Bandhuvaya” (2010), both of which won Nandi Awards despite being sleeper hits. His role in “Prasthanam” became a cult classic, garnering further accolades.

Venturing into Tamil cinema, Sharwanand starred in films such as “Naalai Namadhe” (2009) and “Engeyum Eppodhum” (2011). In 2012, he debuted as a producer with the film “Ko Ante Koti,” produced under Sarvaa Arts.

Commercial Breakthrough and Success (2014–⁠Present)

Sharwanand’s commercial breakthrough came with the blockbuster “Run Raja Run” in 2014, produced by UV Creations. His portrayal of the lead character, Raja, received widespread acclaim. He followed this success with “Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju,” co-starring Nithya Menen and directed by Kranthi Madhav, which was well-received by critics.

His next film, “Express Raja,” was a hit at the box office. However, “JK Enum Nanbanin Vaazhkai,” directed by Cheran and released in Telugu in 2016, performed below average at the box office.

Sharwanand’s “Shathamanam Bhavati,” produced by Dil Raju and directed by Satish Vegesna, collected almost 50 crores. His 25th film, “Radha,” produced by B. V. S. N. Prasad, received mixed reviews. He then starred in “Mahanubhavudu,” released on September 29, 2017, directed by Maruthi, which achieved critical and commercial success.

His film “Jaanu,” released on February 7, 2020, directed by C. Prem Kumar, is a remake of the Tamil film ’96. Following this, he starred in “Maha Samudram,” directed by Ajay Bhupathi and produced by Anil Sunkara. Despite high expectations, it received negative reviews and was a significant flop.

Sharwanand then appeared in the science fiction time-travel film “Oke Oka Jeevitham,” co-starring Amala Akkineni, Ritu Varma, Vennela Kishore, and Priyadarshi Pullikonda. Directed by Shree Karthick and produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, it received generally positive reviews and was a decent hit.

A political thriller directed by Krishna Chaitanya, starring Sharwanand, Raashii Khanna, and Priyamani, was shelved due to undisclosed reasons. Instead, People Media Factory backed a romantic thriller titled “Manamey,” set in London, directed by Sriram Adittya and starring Sharwanand.

On March 6, 2024, Sharwanand’s 36th and 37th films were launched with directors Abhilash Reddy Kankara (“Loser”) and Ram Abbaraju (“Samajavaragamana”), respectively. On the same day, he also announced the birth of his daughter, Leela Devi Myneni.
