Drinking Water Supply Impacted in Several Hyderabad Areas

Several areas in Hyderabad are slated to experience disruptions in drinking water supply due to maintenance works scheduled from 6 am to 12 noon on March 10, 2024.

Areas Affected by Drinking Water Supply Disruption:

  1. Vijayanagar Colony
  2. Humayun Nagar
  3. Kaktiya Nagar
  4. Syed Nagar
  5. Bazarghat
  6. AC Guards
  7. Red Hills
  8. Income Tax area
  9. Adjoining areas of Secretariat
  10. Indiranagar
  11. BJR Colony
  12. Advocate Colony
  13. Hill Colony

Additionally, the following areas will also face disruption in water supply during the same period:

  1. Gokul Nagar
  2. Areas around Nampally Railway Station
  3. Jangam Basthi
  4. Khairatabad
  5. Mallepally
  6. Lakdikapool
  7. Seetaram Bagh
  8. Gunfoundry
  9. Chirag Ali Lane
  10. New MLA Quarters
  11. BRK Bhavan
  12. Hindi Nagar
  13. Ghode-Khabar
  14. Domalguda
  15. Gandhi Nagar
  16. MLA Colony
  17. Syed Nagar
  18. Thattikhana
  19. Parts of NBT Nagar
  20. Noornagar

This is not the first instance of drinking water supply disruption in Hyderabad this year due to maintenance works.

Water Crisis in Telangana: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has highlighted that due to deficit rainfall this year, water levels in the reservoirs have depleted, leading to a looming water crisis in the state.

Revanth Reddy inaugurated the innovative ‘Rythu Nestham’ program via video conference from his residence. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, Secretary of the Agriculture department, Commissioner Raghunandana Rao, Director Gopi, and representatives of farmers unions Sunketa Anvesh Reddy, Nallamala Venkateswara Rao, and Y Venkateswara Rao participated in the program from the Secretariat.

Addressing the audience, Revanth Reddy acknowledged the demands from farmers and leaders in Karimnagar, Khammam, Nalgonda, and Mahabubnagar districts to release water from the reservoirs. He emphasized the present drought situation in the state and assured that the government is taking necessary measures to address the drinking water crisis in the upcoming summer season.
